There's a lot of stuff going back to that time. You can do a search by year:

collection:(feature_films) AND year:(1933)

"Sensation Hunters" is fun, if a little lacking in depth. I also would recommend "Corruption." I especially guffawed at the end, when a news photographer gives a very visible and drawn-out finger to a corrupt politician. It's a tolerable good movie on its own merits, but the lack of Hays Code censorship makes it better.

BTW, Micah (off-topic), I love your handle. One of my favorite passages in the whole Book.

The World Gone Mad is a fairly good thriller.

One you might check is the 1931 German production M with Peter Lorre as a serial killer. I wasn't aware of Lorre's acting skills before seeing this, I'd always written him off as a decent character actor.

I have seen M .
Bleak and frightening . You can hear and feel the Brown Shirts boots in this oddly quiet film . I like Peter Lorre here . Excellent film making , all around .
